It’s a great time of the year in Delhi – how about joining us for a Heritage Walk at the Mehrauli Archaeological Park, one of the best kept secrets of Delhi? Sign up fast – we can only take a small group.

When: Sunday, November 25, 2012
Time: 8:30 am -11:30 am

ABOUT MEHRAULI ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK – ONE OF THE BEST KEPT SECRETS OF DELHI

An area in Delhi that has witnessed continuous inhabitation for more than twelve centuries, Mehrauli presents to the visitor one of the best introductions to the city. The archaeological park, situated just behind the World Heritage complex of the Qutub Minar, is an enthralling site that displays the progression of the political scenario in the city through its architecture. Overshadowed by the enigma of the Qutub Minar, within the Mehrauli Archaeological Park lie some of the earliest and most stunning structures of Delhi’s history. In this walk, expect the unexpected. Marvels such as Giyasuddin Balban’s Tomb, Jamali Kamali Tomb and Mosque Complex, Rajon Ki Baoli and Madhi Masjid are some jewels that lie hidden here. Apart from the exciting histories that these monuments present, they also make for a picturesque view on a winter morning.

Assembly Point
Meet us at 8:30 am at the main entrance to the Mehrauli Archaeological Park on Mehrauli – Gurgaon road.

How to get there
If you are coming in your own vehicle then the best option would be to park it at the Qutub Minar metro station parking, cross the road and walk towards the Qutub Minar for 800 meters approximately. The main entrance to the Mehrauli Archaeological Park will be on your left hand side. Follow the same directions if you are using the metro to get to the meeting point.

What to bring?

1. Water
2. Sun glasses/caps

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes that cover your lower body completely as some areas inside the park are infested with ants.
