ABOUT MEHRAULI ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK – ONE OF THE BEST KEPT SECRETS OF DELHI

An area in Delhi that has witnessed continuous inhabitation for more than twelve centuries, Mehrauli presents to the visitor one of the best introductions to the city. The archaeological park, situated just behind the World Heritage complex of the Qutub Minar, is an enthralling site that displays the progression of the political scenario in the city through its architecture. Overshadowed by the enigma of the Qutub Minar, within the Mehrauli Archaeological Park lie some of the earliest and most stunning structures of Delhi’s history. In this walk, expect the unexpected. Marvels such as Giyasuddin Balban’s Tomb, Jamali Kamali Tomb and Mosque Complex, Rajon Ki Baoli and Madhi Masjid are some jewels that lie hidden here. Apart from the exciting histories that these monuments present, they also make for a picturesque view on a winter morning.
