About The Daajyus

What happens when two young men in their twenty-somethings cross each others’ ways…?? Its almost always the obvious: ‘they become great buddies’ or ‘they become sworn foes’; ‘they become indispensable for each other’ or ‘they cannot see eye to eye’…But what happens when two such gentlemen become acquaintances…graduate to good friends and then unite in the one purpose that’s their life blood…their ultimate passion?? They become…well, they become “The Daajyus”…!! And what do they do? That’s quite a question!! They create symphonies…strains of love…unfathomable love for their land and their people…

“Daajyu” or more simply “Daaju” is a respectful term for elder brother in Uttarakhand: the state that’s as beautiful and pristine as are the hearts of its people…and even though it is ineffable, either in word or deed to do justice to this wonderful land, its rich culture and noble customs; “The Daajyus” have made a humble attempt to usher in a new lease of life for our heritage and to keep the torch of our ethnicity and traditions lit and ever-rising to greater heights of glory.
